A hamstring stretch for rowers

Hi there, it’s Girl on the River again Today I’m going to be talking about hamstring stretches. Now, a lot of rowers have very tight hamstrings – I know I do – They’re the muscles that go up the back of your leg and you really want to work on their flexibility because it really helps with your rowing So here’s a really simple stretch and it’s one that you can do on your own without having someone to push against you So you lie on your back… one foot flat on the ground, the other you raise in the air and you use a strap to make it easier – this is just a dressing gown cord And you want to apply some pressure So that you feel it up the back of your leg And you want to do it for ideally two minutes per side every day to really start to feel a difference And that’s all there really is to it. You do it on either side… And you really can’t do yourself any serious damage with that. So let me know how you get on with it.
