Chest Stretch to Loosen Upper Back, Neck & Shoulder Tension

Hi I’m Lisa Huck my practice is called thrive fitness nutrition lifestyle and I love helping people move this movement going to show you today is called a chest stretch and I’m going to add a piece of it that’s called the head driver it’s going to really help loosen up the upper back I get a lot of people coming in with neck tension shoulder tension headaches this piece is really great for that as well as posture so what you’ll do is you’ll find a corner a door the door of your car to put your hand up ideally you’re a little bit above shoulder level if that hurts your shoulder you can get lower or lower so make sure your shoulder feels comfortable then whatever arm is back that same leg is forward and what we’re going to do is going to rock through the knee and the hip and I’m just going forward and backward and all of this is getting a tug now what’s great about this is this opens up the chest when your chest is tight it tends to stoop us over and it’s hard on our posture this also gets the shoulder and the bicep from cell phone usage our biceps are getting tight so this is good for that too then after a few going forward I’m going to step laterally and then move laterally into it because remember we’re always going to try and move in three dimensions because three dimensions three dimensional dynamic movement unlocks the potential of the body then what I’m going to do is I’m going to hold it into that lateral motion I’m going to turn my face look down drop my face and look up I only go as far as my body allows I got going to push the range there’s no need to do that you only go where your body is willing this feels so good often from the tension of the day you’re going to feel your back actually unlock and even adjust on its own in that head driver added so that’s called the chest stretch of course you’re going to do the other side thank you and if you want to go to the next level go to my website thrive fnl dot com
