Couch Stretch – CORE Chiropractic Exercises


– Hi, I’m Dr. Natalie Cordova,
this is the couch stretch. So, you wanna get in a position
where you’re on the ground, the leg that you’re stretching,
that knee is on the ground, and the foot in front of
you, the knee does not go past the ankle, so that you
don’t hurt that knee joint. So, ideally, you’re
bringing up the back foot, so that it’s on a couch or a chair, or you can go against a wall. And you’re aiming so
that you’re stretching the front of your thigh, you’re
getting a good quad stretch, but you’re also getting a
good hip flexor stretch, so the more that you can
bring your pelvis in, and tucking that pelvis, so that you’re stretching
out the hip flexor, you’re holding this
position up to two minutes, and you’re looking straight ahead, you’re just comfortably hanging out here, you’re bringing up your leg here, so that’s nice and comfortable, you’re not hurting your knee,
you need a little pillow, that makes it a little easier
to tolerate this position, but the goal is to stretch here, and holding it there for two minutes. Then you switch to the other side.
