EASY High Protein Smoothie: Meal Replacement | LaToya Codner

(melodious instrumental music) – [LaToya] Hey, loves. Today I’m gonna show you how to get this high protein smoothie. I love using this to
build muscles for workouts and can also be used
as a meal replacement. All right, so what you’ll need, bananas, oats, almond
butter, we’ll get to it. So you’re gonna start with your banana, its no fat, no cholesterol, no sodium, high in lots of vitamins and protein. I love using bananas and
it gives it sweetness too. So I’m gonna take one cup of oats. I like using raw oats because
you get more nutrients and less of this stuff that
companies like to put in it. This is one cup of coconut milk, it’s lactose free, full of vitamins. And I actually like to
mix the coconut milk and the oats together and
put it off to the side so that the oatmeal can thicken up. This is one cup of
cottage cheese, low-fat, full of calcium with some protein. And of course almond butter,
it has tons of protein, less saturated fat than peanut butter, more omega-3 fatty acids, it reduces bad cholesterol, the LDLs. I mean almond butter and it gives us this really nice nutty taste
that I’m kind of obsessed with. So now that the oatmeal
is ready, I put that in, I like putting all of my
liquidy things on the bottom and then my sort of more
thick things on the top. A little bit of honey for more sweetness and I put the lid on and
then we’re gonna hit blend. Now this is a really, really thick drink, great for breakfast
because it fills you up. But I had to add a cup of water just to thin it out a little bit and it blends so much better that way, so I recommend you doing that. In general, thinner
substances on the bottom, thicker things on the top. So we’re done. I love using mason jars, I
just think they’re really cute and they store things well. I would only store this for
a few hours, maybe a day max, but that’s what it’s gonna look like. Fast blender cleaning tips. Okay, so you’re gonna fill
your blender up with water. I like doing this
immediately after I use it, it works so much better. Put a little bit of
dish detergent in there and then hit mix, let it blend up as if you’re making a smoothie and then you’re gonna repeat those steps. So now all you have to do

  1. 2 scoops (1/3cup) muscle milk vanilla cream flavor equals 32 protein grams,
    1 cup plain Chobani yogurt – 15 grams protein or cottage cheese – 20+ protein grams,
    1 banana and 2 handfuls of frozen mixed fruit
    Oatmeal 1/4 cup or whole grain cereal shredded in a blender.

    I sometimes add some spinach or kelp for different flavors
    and sometimes add chocolate.

    This is a high protein start for any fitness day 47 – 52 protein grams.

  2. Try throwing a big handful of raw baby spinach in there! You literally don't taste it and why not get some greens into your body without having to do much work for it!

  6. nice tip.. i make my shakes on daily basis which consists of oats but i grind the Oats to powder and then pour it to the blender.. drinking the oat powder in shake is easier them the actual oats itself.. hope tht helps ๐Ÿ™„

  10. My recipe for ultimate protein

    Egg white (pasterized)
    2 bananas
    Almond butter
    Peanut butter
    2 spoon of protein poweder

  11. I make a breakfast smoothie it is 2 hole bananas 1 ounce choclet syrup 1 cup peanut butter 3 cups almond milk and half a cup vanilla ice cream stores for 2 days

  12. I like to combine the oatmeal and liquid in the blender and let it sit for a few minutes to soften, then blend it by itself before adding the other ingredients. I find the texture is way better that way imo. And I use Greek yogurt when I can because its so protein dense.

    1/3rd cup oats, 2/3rd cups non sweetened greek yogurt, 1 banana, 1 cup milk (I dont care about dairy but this is easily switched for almond or just water) and a tablespoon of honey because the yogurt is tart… This is the base recipe and you can add from here. Its 1 perfect serving size and is 600ish calories and more than 40 grams of normal food protein without any added protein powders!
    …I like to also add a spoon of chia seeds, a handful of blueberries and a handful of spinach (which is ridiculously good for you and its super mild you cant even taste it honestly)
