Full-Body Stretching Tips : Calf Muscle Stretches & Exercises


Hi, my name is Sue Conrad and I’m going to
show you how to build stronger calves. Now you have a couple options here, you can either
use your own balance or you can hold onto something for additional support. You have
your feet a little further than shoulder width apart or a little bit closer, whatever is
more comfortable. And you’re going to go ahead and rock back, keeping the heels down towards
the floor. OK, I’m going to hold that position for two to three seconds. OK, once you’ve
held that position two to three seconds you’re going to come back to center, your starting
position with your heels hanging off your step. You’re going to come up on your toes
and hold that position three to five seconds. OK, I’m going to try and tense those calves.
Tighten, lengthen the body up towards the sky. Keep your body in a nice postural position.
OK, come back to our starting position. You’re going to repeat this series, you’re going
to do two sets of eight to twelve reps and you can use any step that you have accessible
to you. It could be the front of your house, climbing the stairs. This is an exercise you
can do almost anywhere. Again, this exercise is designed to help strengthen your calf muscles.
