Full-Body Stretching Tips : Chest Muscle Stretching Exercises


Hi my name is Sue Conrad and I’m going to
show you how to stretch your chest. One of the stretch exercise that you can do is have
your feet a little further then shoulder width apart. You are going to extend your arms back,
palms facing behind you. Interlace your fingers, and gently press back. Now this is also a
stretch where you can have assistance if you have a partner who is exercising with you.
They can help, extend your stretch up a little bit, but if you are just stretching on your
own, then you just want to keep your shoulders relaxed, knees slightly bent, hold it for
about ten seconds, then relax. Ok we are going to try that again. You just want to reach
the arms back, remember you don’t want to go any further then you feel comfortable,
you want a nice gentle stretch, you don’t want to pull any tendons or muscles. Hold
for about ten seconds. And relax. Another stretch that I like to do to stretch the chest
muscles, you are going to go ahead and take your arms out to the side, and press your
palms back, knees slightly bent, shoulders relaxed, back nice and straight. You’re going
to gently pulse back ok now gently pulse back. About ten to twelve times, let your arms relax,
take a deep breath. And you can do this one again, extend the arms out, rotate the palms
back and press. Nice and gentle. Bring your arms a little bit below the shoulders as you
are pulsing. Do it ten times, relax. In both these exercises you can do two to three times
just make sure you are having a rest period in between to give those muscles a break and
this is how you stretch your chest.
