How to Make a Stretch Cord Bracelet | Jewelry & Accessory Ideas | Michaels

Hi I’m Laura Lee. Today I’m going to show you how to make quick and easy stretch cord bracelets. You can wear just one or stack them up on your wrist as a nice accessory. Let’s get started. You’ll need: a strand of beads, cute charms, Stretch Magic cording, scissors, Bead Bugs, and E6000 or super glue. You’ll wanna start by measuring your wrist. My wrist is about seven inches around and I’m starting with 10 inches of cording. Here’s a tip: use a thicker elastic that fits through your beads. Grab a Bead Bug and attach it to the end of your cording. This will keep your beads from
falling off as you build your bracelet. Now you can start stranding your beads. Start with about nine before you add your charm. I used nine beads but the number may vary, based on the size of your wrist. After you’ve strung half of your bracelet, pick out your favorite charm and add it to the strand. Now it’s time to string the rest of your bracelet so I’m going to add nine more beads to the other side of the charm. After you’re finished stringing all of your beads, carefully remove the Bead Bug and tie an overhand knot to finish off your bracelet. After you’ve tied your first knot, add a dab of glue before tying your second knot for a more
secure hold. After you’ve tied your double knot, take the ends of the cording and hide them inside the beads. That’s how easy it is to make stretch
cord bracelets and you can make so many different versions of them. Add your
favorite charm, found objects, or embellishments to make them your own.

  4. Im amazed this is a Michael's Video๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”…This is NOT a good presentation…you can see the Knot ….good Craftsmanship always show the knot tucked under the charm bail or bead socket

  5. Why didn't you measure your wrist since mine is really small but someone else might need larger? Why didn't you use a big-eyed beading needle, it's so much easier.

  6. I love Michael's but That's NOT all you need to do to make a stretch cord bracelet. It's REALLY important to stretch the cord before you start beading. Your cord will stretch out from putting it on and off if you don't stretch the cord first. It will be loose and will look like your missing beads. Also There is a way to tie the stretch cord so that the knots won't pull out, this is important also. I believe the package your cord comes in shows how to properly tie. The best way to finish AFTER all of that is to use a crimping bead, you can use glue it's not as secure. Hope this helps! Happy beading!

  7. That โ€œhiddingโ€ in the last part of the video was GENIUS!!! I was trsuggling so much with my bracelets because i thought i could just burn the edges to lock them and it was a disaster! Thanks so much! That was just great!
