Hi I’m Tom Holland Bowflex Fitness Adviser and this is the best hip flexor stretch. Our hip flexors. If you place your hands on your hips and you raise your leg you’ll feel the iliopsoas muscle, that is your hip flexor. Exercise and sitting for long periods of time makes it tight. Tightness can cause problems. So we want to stretch it. What’s one of the best stretches? It’s the kneeling hip flexor stretch. Elsa is going to demonstrate. So she’s going to kneel with one leg forward,
and all she’s gonna do is press those hips forward, shifting her weight forward. She is now going to feel a stretch right in that hip flexor, that iliopsoas muscle. She’s gonna hold it anywhere from 10 to 60 seconds and then she’s going to
switch sides. So she’ll bring the other leg forward, place it in front of her and shift those hips forward. It’s such a simple stretch, it’s such an important stretch cuz again (especially sitting for long periods of time) these muscles get shorter. When they get shorter, they can cause problems.
