They show those commercials… Steak, that’s what a man eats. …selling that idea that
real men eat meat. Serious man food. But you gotta understand,
that’s marketing. That’s not based on reality. I’ve been teaching fighting techniques to
government agencies for more than 15 years. Then, I got injured. Unable to teach for at least six months,
I spent more than 1,000 hours studying science on
recovery and nutrition, and stumbled across a study
about the Roman gladiators. The gladiators were predominantly
vegetarian. How could the original professional fighters
be so powerful eating only plants? When I made the switch to a plant-based diet,
I qualified for my third Olympic team, I broke two American records. I was like, man, I should have
done this a long while ago. When I went plant-based,
I wasn’t sure if I was gonna survive. And I actually became like a machine. One of the biggest misconceptions in
sports nutrition is that we have to have animal protein to perform at a high level.
That’s just not true. Sometimes you have to do things that you
know your competitors aren’t doing. Today’s blood and yesterday’s blood. Damn. I think this is going to wake
a lot of people up. I was recovering better,
and not getting as sore. This was our best season
in the last 15 years and we had 14 guys
on plant-based diets. We all wanna feel great, have more energy. Cholesterol was 276, today 169. Whoa! Now you’re talking. Most guys my age
can’t keep up with their grandchildren, my grandchildren can’t keep up with me. It’s not one set of dietary guidelines for
improving your performance as an athlete, another one for reversing heart disease,
reversing diabetes— it’s the same for all of them. Someone asked me, “How could you get as
strong as an ox without eating any meat?” And my answer was,
“Have you ever seen an ox eating meat?”

  1. I've been waiting for this my whole life.. Now I can show this documentary to every a**hole that I've been tryin to explain this for years. For everyone who still thinks meet has benefits, it doesn't.. Just for the sake of some proteins and other nutrients you will sacrifice your whole organism for that starting with your stomach to process that meet than overload your liver with fats that he doesn't need and a lots of toxins stuck on your colon. Ppl think if they eat a kilo of meet the body will assimilate all that. The system will extract what he needs which is roughly for a kilo around 100-150 grams of nutrients and proteins, the rest of it it will intoxicate your body in the elimination process creating fatigue, feeling heavy, remaining toxins will cause bad skin complexity, ageing faster. And if you keep eating like that and your body will repeat this process at some point will be full of toxins that it can eliminate and that is the sources of major diseases like cancer. Try and eat meet in the evening and in the next morning smeel you breath.. It stinks like a dead animal, because that's what's happens, first it putrefies it doesn't just melt like most ppl think..If someone could watch what is happening in his stomach all this time I promise you will never touch any kind of meat for the rest of your life.

  5. I was scared to go vegan because I thought I'd be eating too many carbs and gain weight. But I swapped meat for legumes and the opposite happened. I've never been leaner or stronger in my whole life. I also used to be anemic but not anymore. Turns out there's TONS of iron in plants!!

  9. Get a bunch of celebs onboard and people will lap this shit up. Not everyone will do well on a vegan/plant based diet, health goes far deeper that eating more greens. Most people in the first place were eating pure shite to begin with and then they make the transition to plant based and claim it's all because they cut out meat.. hasn't it occured to anyone that they started to eat real food so that's why they feel better?? Eventually that 'good feeling' will drop off and you'll feel average again due to the absense of meat, then you will fall back into shitty patterns of eating, possibly even gain weight, worsen that skin problem you had because you started to go for the FREE from foods that are calorie dense and full of obscure unnatural ingredients all because you got bored of eating a bunch of leaves and craved something more satiating.

  11. I was waiting for that film so long but I'm disappointed really. There wasn't so many information. Watching videos of Dr. Klapper, Dr. Greger and many more, reading China Study, How not to die, How to prevent and reverse heart disease I know more that its said in the film. Why they mentioned even vegan? There is a massive difference between vegan and plant based food!

  12. used to be vegan …..now mostly animal food eater….I feel so much better now, lost weight and have energy at the gym and my stomach is not bloated anymore unless when I eat fruit. there is agenda to keep us fighting. do not waist your time fighting to prove your opinion…..eat what you feel like.

  15. Watched the movie tonight during the premiere and it was fantastic and even stayed around for the funny outtakes! Great movie and definitely worth a watch even by those not considering a vegan/vegetarian diet.

  17. I may love meat but I'm turning to noodles, vegetables, fruit with other stuff. No performance enhancements or steroids at all. Taking proper care of your body is key not all this nonsense I've learned it the hard way.

  28. I went wfpb and my stomach pains and hospital visits increased. I agree that wfpb is one of the best diets on the planet for humans but it’s not for everyone, and genetics plays a huge roll in this. My stomach pains and hospital visits completely stopped when I started eating lean meats and a very small amount of butter and olive oil again. I’m not claiming there is scientific proof for this, but simply saying this is the experience I had with my own body. I can’t explain it, but my personal explanation is that it’s genetics.

    Also side note to get your muscles as a big as a 3 year old baby like Arnold did back in the day you HAVE to take drugs our body's aren't made to get that big its physically impossible. Plus you'd have almost no movement just looking at it looks uncomfortable… and unnatural.

    Its proven you need meat as part of your diet it makes you healthier.

  32. I've been planted based 25 years and I still run a mile under 5 minutes, 3k under 15 minutes, and play ice hockey 2-3 times a week at the age of 45!!!! So happy to see the main stream gets the plant based download! Mother knows best, Mother Earth! <3

Now I perform and look like an athlete, I eat a moderate amount of meat and plate fulls of veg. Look how many plant based athletes there are in comparison to carnivores. Its a nice idea and it'd be great if the whole world could agree not to eat meat for the sake of the planet but this just screams bullshit. Hence target the fitness industry… The new craze..

  35. People, especially Americans, have become sheep to the proliferation of food advertising. Most will quote statements about diet and food they hear from people who do not know the science. They feel empowered by some so called doctor on tv or dietition claiming non scientific information. Example, and one of my favorites, "does your family have a history of heart disease?" The question is intended to mislead the person by assumong heart disease somehow "runs" in the family. The question that should be asked is "does your family over generations eat food that causes heart disease?" Understand the narrative of the industry and its goal, profit. They make money on making you sick, then the pharmaceutical companies make money on fixing the symptoms. All the while your actual health never becomes well.
