Yoga Moves: Calf Stretch is utter relief for high heel wearers

Looking to improve lower body mobility?
Look no further than calf stretch. This deep opener for the hamstrings and calf
muscles is really one quarter of a yoga classic called ‘Cow Face’ pose. Sit on the ground
with your legs outstretched in the soles of the feet resting on a wall or on a
couple of yoga blocks. Ensure the feet are hip distance apart and parallel to
one another. Bend your right knee and step the foot
onto the opposite side of the left thigh then stack your right knee over the left
in the midline of the body and rest the pinky side of your right foot beside
your left outer hip. If there’s a gap between your knees simply fill it with a
folded blanket or sofa cushion. Inhale as you grow taller through the spine and
angle your upper body forward over the outstretched leg as you exhale,
supporting yourself with your hands. Think about reaching your chin out in
front of your knees. Now milk the pose for all it’s worth by dorsi flexing the
left ankle to pull the foot away from the yoga brick or the wall. Take five
breaths before switching sides.
